National Quality Framework

The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations’ National Quality Framework (NQF) covers Out of School Hours Care (OOSH) – referred to as 'My Time Our Place'.

The framework aims to create a rich environment for play. The standards are designed to give children the best possible start in life through high quality early childhood education and care.

The NQF includes:

  • A national legislative framework that consists of the Education and Care Services National Law and Education and Care Services National Regulations.
  • A national quality standard.
  • An assessment and rating system.
  • A regulatory authority in each state and territory with primary responsibility for the approval, monitoring and quality assessment of services in their jurisdiction.
