How long will it take?
Once reserved items are available and have been processed, they will be issued to your card and delivered within 10 business days.
Do you do returns?
This is a delivery service only. You cannot return items through the service. You are to return them through the library chutes as normal.
How many items can I reserve?
A maximum of 5 reserves can be placed at a time. If you have requested multiple items that are currently available at different locations, we will wait to send them all together in one delivery
Why are you restarting the service now, when it was previously suspended due to lockdown restrictions?
The delta outbreak presented a new strain, and new threats to our community. To ensure that we were keeping our community and staff safe, we suspended the service. With strong community interest, high vaccination rates and low case numbers in our area, we have reviewed our safety process and are able to re-instate the service.
Can’t you just do Click and Collect?
As it stands, the COVID-safe protocols for Knock and Drop are more protective than any for Click and Collect, as it is a no contact delivery service. We are following all health advice, and the safety of Ku-ring-gai residents and staff is our top priority.
I do not want library books delivered, can I pick them up when the library reopens?
If you would not like your items delivered, library staff can suspend your reservation, so it will be re-reserved for you at a later date.
Are there any charges involved in delivery?
No! This is a free service during the current NSW COVID-19 lockdown.
I am a library member but live outside Ku-ring-gai, can I still have my reserved books delivered?
Unfortunately, we can only deliver to addresses within the Ku-ring-gai Local Government Area. Library staff will be in contact to confirm if you would like your reservations to be suspended, and re-reserved for you at a later date.
When can I expect my library books to arrive?
Due to the volume of deliveries we are processing, we cannot give you an exact time or date for arrival. We will endeavour for your items to reach you within 3-5 business days from your confirmation of delivery.
I can see items issued on my card, but I have not received them?
We issue all items to your library card after receiving confirmation for delivery, the items may still take 3-5 business days to arrive after this stage.
I live out of area - can I have my books dropped off at a friend’s house?
No. We can only organise delivery to the residential address of the account holder for the reserved items.
I reserved a book that was out on loan months ago, why isn’t it available yet?
Due to extended loan periods because of the COVID-19 lockdown, reservations may take longer than usual to become available.
I live in an apartment complex, can I still have items delivered?
Yes. Please ensure your contact details are accurate & let staff know any special instructions for entering the building. Council staff will contact you to confirm drop off.
What about my current loans - are my due dates extended?
All existing loans will continue to be extended while we are in lockdown. Keep an eye on your account or call staff for more information.
