Vulnerable and elderly residents
Council is working with several local community organisations to help elderly residents with shopping and meal deliveries, pharmacy and glasses prescriptions and emergency food packages.
In the past two weeks, we have received lots of volunteer enquiries, and we would like to thank the community for your positive response. As the need for volunteers is high but uneven among organisations, please register your interest or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will forward your details to the organisations most in need at that time. We encourage younger volunteers to contribute so that we can protect the health of our older volunteers.
Other ways to help your elderly neighbours include:
- Take out the bins.
- Bring in the mail.
- Water plants.
- Mow the lawn.
- Shop for them and drop it off safely.
