Together with five other northern Sydney councils we have produced another eye-catching wall calendar, featuring some fascinating, yet still deadly serious, road safety messages.
This year’s calendar takes an historical look at how things were. Times have changed, and our roads are considerably busier. The message to take car and be safe on our roads is the same. However, today we have the advantage of improved laws and technology to assist our road safety.
In 1955 vehicle ownership in Australia was 1.4 million. In 2021 it rose to 21 million. Many of the photos reflect the difference the rise in traffic has made for both pedestrians and motorists relative to times gone by.
Get a copy of the calendar and remind yourself of what you need to be doing to improve the safety for everyone on and near our local roads.
Free to all Ku-ring-gai residents, you can collect your calendar from Council's Customer Service Centre, community facilities such as leisure centres, libraries, Ku-ring-gai Art Centre etc.
The 2023 Road Safety Calendar is created in collaboration with Hornsby, Ku-ring-gai, Willoughby, Lane Cove, Northern Beaches, North Sydney, and City of Ryde Councils.
