Council is offering a range of support to residents across Ku-ring-gai. If you need assistance with shopping, meals or transport read below for a list of community organisations who can help.

For those who are struggling with their mental health and feelings of isolation during lockdown, there are a range of services offering online and telephone support.

All services providers below have their own COVID-19 safe strategies in place and will comply with the latest public health orders and restrictions. All staff and volunteers from these services providers and recipients must wear masks. Essential community services still operating in Ku-ring-gai area include:

Transport

Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community Transport will continue to provide transport during the lockdown order, to our eligible aged and community members for essential journeys including:

  • Visiting doctors, specialists, medical tests or treatments (individual transport) 
  • Shopping services and shuttles (small group)
  • Getting to your pharmacy (if it does not deliver)

If you are over 65 years old or with a disability, please contact 9983 1611 to book your transport.

Ku-ring-gai Neighbourhood Centre

  • Essential transport (individual) 

If you are 65 and over, please contact 9988 4966 for support.

Food

Hornsby/Ku-ring-gai Meals on Wheels contactless delivery of daily meals to people over 65 years old in the Ku-ring-gai area. If you are 65 and over, please contact 9144 2044 to order your food delivery.

Ku-ring-gai Connect is offering a “Staples” hamper, with a varied selection of pantry items, bakery items, fruit and vegetables for $10. Opening hours: 12.30pm to 2.30pm on Thursdays, 1 Gilroy Road, Turramurra. Please register before you attend the Centre in the Turramurra Centre.
