Ku-ring-gai Sports Forum to be held in June
Published on 13 May 2022
Ku-ring-gai Council will host the forum with local sporting groups between 6pm and 8pm on Monday 6 June.
The Ku-ring-gai Sports Forum makes its return after a two year hiatus during the pandemic. The forum’s aim is for Ku-ring-gai’s sporting groups and associations to meet Council staff and get updates on major projects and other sporting matters.
Nearly 50 sports representatives have attended previous forums on behalf of the four football codes, netball, cricket, baseball, basketball, Oztag, archery and school sports.
This year’s Forum will be held between 6pm and 8pm on Monday 6 June at Level 1, Ku-ring-gai Council Depot, 5 Suakin Street Pymble. The guest speaker is Fiona MacColl from the NSW Office of Sport who will discuss the state government’s grant program for sporting groups, as well as other initiatives.
Council staff will present information on proposed sportsfield upgrades, projects already underway and policies affecting sports that are under review.
They will also provide an update on the sportsfield maintenance program and the Council’s new booking system.
Mayor Jeff Pettett said the forum was an important event for sporting groups and had been missed during the pandemic.
“It’s a chance for everyone to meet face-to-face with Council staff and get the latest information on sports management and projects in the local area.”
