Spring flowers to brighten Lindfield and West Pymble

Mass plantings of spring flowers will be on show in Kochia Lane Lindfield and Philip Mall West Pymble from this weekend.

The celebration will see temporary displays of spring flowers installed in planters and hanging baskets along Kochia Lane and Philip Mall.

The Lindfield display was installed on Friday 16 September. Council staff will work overnight so the Philip Mall display is in place to greet residents and shoppers on Saturday morning.

Both displays will be in place for up to six weeks, depending on weather conditions.

This year’s colourful planters have been painted by clients at the Boonah Creative Arts Centre and children at Cromehurst School.

It’s the fourth time Ku-ring-gai streets have been brightened by the Spring Flowers Celebration, which started in 2019.

The Celebration was started by the Council as a way of lifting residents’ spirits and encouraging them to shop locally.

Mayor Jeff Pettett said this year’s Spring Flowers Celebration was especially welcome as the community begins to shake off the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our staff are already getting compliments from passers-by in Lindfield on the flowers,” he said.

The Mayor added residents could share their images of the Spring Flower Celebration on social media using the hashtag #kcspringflowers
