Two new playgrounds opened in March

The new playgrounds are at Robert Pymble Park in Pymble and Dukes Green in East Lindfield.

Both playgrounds reopened to the public this month after extensive upgrades.

The community were consulted before designs were prepared for both playgrounds, with the aim of making them accessible and inclusive.

The design for the Robert Pymble playground has been themed around the area’s former use as a fruit farm by its namesake Robert Pymble. Playground equipment designed for all ages and abilities includes a tractor, a farm-inspired climbing frame and fruit shaped rockers.

The new playground also includes seating, picnic areas and bike racks, plus a circuit track for younger children to ride scooters and bikes.

Other planned improvements to Robert Pymble Park in the future include accessible toilets, new landscaping and drainage.

The new playground at Dukes Green in Wellington Road East Lindfield also opened this week.

The new playground provides equipment for all ages and abilities including a climbing frame, swing set, slide, carousel, cubby house and a rocker.

The playground also includes a discovery and nature play area beneath existing trees, along with seating, additional trees for shading, landscaping, a water fountain and a new fence.

Mayor Jeff Pettett said the Council was progressively upgrading parks and playgrounds in Ku-ring-gai to make them more accessible.

“We have a principle of ‘everyone can play’ and we think families will really enjoy visiting these latest play areas.”
