Understanding Chinese traditional art forms

The class will cover the historical evolution of calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting.

Composed of two parts, calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting, the classes primarily focus on understanding the origins and writing characteristics of Chinese Characters; and exploring the fundamental techniques of ink painting, differentiating it from oil painting and water colour and understanding the subtle, poetic and elegant expressive styles of Chinese painting from an artistic perspective.
