Filming permits

Ku-ring-gai Local Government Area offers a variety of opportunities for commercial filming in scenic locations.

Filming companies are required to submit an online filming application for any filming activity in public areas and within private property, at least two weeks prior to the proposed filming date.

Companies are also required to provide a community notification letter advising local residents and business of filming activities at least seven days prior to the date of filming.

Please use the following steps to complete the filming application:

Please note - Customer account must be created and applications must be submitted under the name of the company or individual requiring the tax invoice.

  1. Create or login with a registered account.
  2. Select preferred first filming date and time.
  3. Select ‘Review and Finalise’ then ‘Complete’. You will then be required to enter filming checklist details and upload supporting documents.

The following documents are required at the time of submission:

  • Community notification letter.
  • Parking plan.
  • Public liability insurance.
