Submissions received outside the notification period or through other channels cannot be accepted to ensure a fair, consistent process and compliance with our community participation plan.

Submission requirements

  • A submission must state the reasons for objection to, or support for, a development or related application.
  • All written submissions must be addressed to the Assessing Officer and submitted no later than the closing date of the notification period.
  • The name and address of the person making the written submission must be clearly marked on the submission.
  • If the submission is a petition, the petition must clearly state the name of the head petitioner and their contact details.
  • The development application number and address are to be clearly marked on the submission.
  • To make a submission on behalf of someone, you must include the name and contact details of the person you are representing, along with your own name and contact details.

Once your submission is made you will receive an automated acknowledgment email. We will take all submissions into consideration when assessing the application but cannot give a detailed response to each one made.

Please note: Submissions will not remain confidential as they are included in assessment reports and Council is obliged to comply with legislation under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009.

Submission acknowledgement during December 2025 and January 2026

Council will continue to accept submissions relating to applications throughout the Christmas and New Year period. However, please be advised that between 19 December 2023 and 9 January 2026 the timeframes for an acknowledgment letter in response to the submission may be extended to accommodate the Christmas and New Year break holiday period.
