Building and renovations
Construction on non-resident sites can recommence in Greater Sydney, from Saturday 31 July, with significant safety measures in place. A defined list of preparatory works may commence on worksites prior to 31 July, to enable sites to safely reopen and ensure Covid safe measures are in place and plant and equipment can be safely restarted. Worksites in Greater Sydney will be allowed to operate on Sundays and public holidays from now until Christmas. Construction COVID-19 Safety plans will have to be completed for each worksite. Outside of the eight locked down LGAs, limited construction work in occupied premises including residential homes can resume from Saturday 31 July where:
- There is zero contact between workers and residents - that is occupiers vacate the area of the works.
- There are no more than two workers inside and five workers outside.
