June 2021 update: A new Ministerial Order was made on 15 June 2021 to allow construction work to continue on weekends.

Under the Environmental Planning and Assessment (COVID-19 Development—Construction Work Days) Order (No 2) 2021, work will be allowed on Saturdays from 7am to 5pm, except for the carrying out of rock breaking, rock hammering, sheet piling, pile driving or similar activities. Quieter works will be allowed on Sundays from 9am to 5pm such as tiling, painting and safety checks as well as professional works and administrative activities related to a construction site. No work will be allowed on public holidays. These changes will be in place until March 2022. View further details of the changes here.
