Libraries in Ku-ring-gai are open

In accordance with advice from NSW Health, the library is open to fully vaccinated people over 16 years of age, and children under 16 years of age who are accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult. Opening hours
We will be operating at full normal hours. To check when your local branch is open, see the branch information below.

Reservations
You can reserve books to pick up at your local branch. Explore the Library catalogue to get started. 

Knock and Drop
We have now ceased the Knock and Drop delivery service in preparation for welcoming you back into the branches. All reservations and book bundles placed before11.59pm 6 October will be delivered soon.

Reservations placed through the Library catalogue from 7 October will be held for collection at your local branch. 

Returns and loan periods
Our out-of-hours return chutes are open 24/7. You can return items any time.  All current loans have been extended until 1 December to allow you to return your items in the safest way for you. Our loan periods will return to normal from Monday 11 October. See information about loan periods and more on our FAQs webpage

Storytime
Storytime will continue to be streamed online in the Ku-ring-gai Library parent's corner. Join the group to stream craft how-to videos, trivia, stories and more. 

Safety in the library

We will be offering desk space and computer/photocopier facilities. We are allowing one person per 4sqm inside each branch and one person per 2sqm in our outdoor areas. Our COVID-Safe processes include socially distanced seating areas, sanitising stations, regular cleaning of all surfaces and limited capacity in study rooms. Please support our staff by socially distancing and utilising the sanitising stations available to you.

Vaccination, checking in and masks
All people over 16 years of age entering the library must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. People entering the library are also required to wear an appropriately fitted mask and check in to the library. We will have easily accessible check in stations for you at the entrance to each of our branches. 

Room bookings
Study rooms can be booked through our website. Please note that the capacity of these rooms has been updated to allow one person per 4sqm.

Book clubs and groups
Book clubs can now access book boxes. While you are getting ready for your next club, we encourage you to join our online book club for Melissa Lucashenko's Too Much Lip. Clubs may also resume use of the library space, but must adhere to social distancing and the capacity of the space. 

All groups and gatherings must consider and adhere to social distancing measures when in the library.

Gordon Library

About Gordon Library

As the main branch of Ku-ring-gai Library, Gordon is the largest of our four libraries.

We have a dedicated children’s area, private study rooms and free Wi-Fi. Our Local History section is also located at Gordon Library.

We also have an extensive Chinese language section as well as books in other foreign languages from the State Library.
