Council’s draft Data Breach Policy is on public exhibition to allow members of the community to comment on the draft Policy.
Council at its meeting on 12 December 2023 considered a report on the matter and resolved that:
That the draft Data Breach Policy be placed on public exhibition for a period of 28 days. If any submissions are received, the matter will be reported back to Council after the consultation period. Should no submissions be received, that Council adopt the policy.

The draft Policy has been prepared in-line with the NSW Information Privacy Commission guide to preparing data breach policies and guide to managing data breaches in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act, 1998 which requires agencies to notify individuals affected by an eligible data breach of their person or health information.
