KDCP amendment - Part 14 Local Character, Urban Precincts and Sites

No longer on display. Expired on 01 September 2025, 05:00 PM

Council invites comment from the community on an amendment to Part 14 of the Ku-ring-gai Development Control Plan (KDCP).

The eight Character Areas formalised in the Council adopted Ku-ring-gai Local Character Background Study are proposed to be inserted at the beginning of Part 14 of the KDCP.

The inclusion of this amendment will mean that the many applications being submitted to Council will have to have regard to local character and the setting of buildings.

Improved reference to local character matters will enable better retention of the area’s values, including trees and landscaping, which are key across Ku-ring-gai.

The KDCP amendment and supporting material will be on public exhibition from Monday 4 August 2025 to Monday 1 September 2025.
