Better Business Partnership hospitality expo

This event is hosted by the Better Business Partnership (BBP), a jointly funded Council initiative by Ku-ring-gai, North Sydney and Willoughby Councils.

Hospitality and food-based businesses from across Ku-ring-gai are invited to attend a free expo to help become financially and environmentally sustainable.

The event will help you:

• learn how to reduce food waste, with help from chefs;
• discover new tools built for hospitality teams;
• learn from industry leaders who are tackling tough challenges and driving change;
• find real savings, solutions and support.

The event is also sponsored by the NSW EPA as an activity under the Business Food Waste Partnership grant awarded to BBP in 2024 to work with small food businesses to reduce the amount of food waste that ends up in landfill.

The EPA will explain the NSW government’s regulations which come into force 1 July 2026, mandating businesses to source separate food waste and divert it from landfill.

Expo partners include:

• Huskee Reusable Coffee Cups – offering cafes a scalable, easy system to save money on disposable packaging.
• Crunch Hospo – an app for practical business education, expert-led coaching and a supportive community to help streamline operations and boost profitability.
• Responsible Cafes – offering resources and support to enhance your cafe's environmental impact and attract eco-conscious customers.
• End Food Waste Australia – supporting small businesses by providing research, tools, and sector-specific strategies to reduce food waste.
• Enrich360 – dehydrators that convert food waste into nutrient-rich organic fertiliser overnight, reducing waste volume by up to 93%.
• ORG Recycling – diverting food waste from landfills, converting it into compost or renewable energy.
• Too Good To Go – an app that connects users with local food businesses to purchase surplus food, helping to reduce food waste and save money.
• Reground – helping coffee shops save on waste disposal by delivering spent coffee grounds to community gardens and schools.
• Devolver – a reusable take-away food container system for cafes and food outlets.

Several BBP member businesses will also be showcased at the Expo with local offerings relevant to the hospitality-focused audience.

Businesses are encouraged to register early as spots are limited by the capacity of the venue.
