Night-time Economy Action Plan

Ku-ring-gai Council is developing a Night-time Economy Action Plan and is seeking feedback and ideas from the community to support its development. This initiative will support local businesses with extended trading opportunities while providing diverse after-hours experiences for the growing community.

We have created two consultation pages to capture this feedback.

Local businesses

Council wants to understand what would make Ku-ring-gai a more desirable area for evening business operations. Business owners and operators can:

  • Complete a 5-10 minute online survey.
  • Share ideas on the business ideas wall.
  • Provide feedback on extending trading hours and reaching new customers.

Residents

Council is asking residents what they would like to see available in Ku-ring-gai evenings. As with businesses community members can:

  • Complete a 10 minute online survey.
  • Share ideas on the community ideas wall.
  • Suggest preferences for food, drink, entertainment venues, community events, late-night retail and fitness/wellness options.

Feedback closes 27 July.

Next steps

The action plan will be developed over the coming months using feedback from the community, Ku-ring-gai Chamber of Commerce, adjoining councils and the NSW Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner.

This initiative builds on successful night-time economy strategies from councils across Sydney, demonstrating how well-planned evening economies can boost local business, create jobs and build stronger communities.
