Artists are invited to submit their entry for the 2025 Ku-ring-gai Sculpture Trail, with $6000 in prizes up for grabs.
The annual Sculpture Trail is held at Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden in St Ives from 6 September to 6 October.
Ku-ring-gai Mayor Christine Kay said the annual exhibition features works from regional artists of all ages and levels, from young emerging artists to established sculptors.
“The Ku-ring-gai Sculpture Trail is a wonderful exhibition that showcases some of the very best artists in our region whose works convey the unique nature of our precious bushland,” Mayor Kay said.
“The annual, outdoor exhibition continues to draw visitors to the stunning Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden at Springtime.
“I encourage artists of all ages and backgrounds to come up with a creative and imaginative work using recycled and found objects that celebrate our environment.”
Artists can enter in one of three categories:
- Junior Category for individual artists 17 years and under
- Junior Category for groups of artists 17 years and under, including school groups
- Open Category for artists over 18 years.
A total of $6000 in cash and prizes is on offer for winning entries. Judges will select a winner and runner-up from each of the categories, with awards to be presented on 3 September.
Members of the public can also vote for the People’s Choice Award, which will be announced at the conclusion of the exhibition.
Sculptures made from recycled materials and works that showcase the unique Australian landscape are highly regarded by the judging panel.
Winning entries in 2024 included a clay sculpture based on a casuarina tree see pod, by artist Michelle Macbeth, and a cube decorated with flowers made from recycled plastic bottles, by Knox Grammar Preparatory School’s Year 4 students.
Entries for the 2025 Ku-ring-gai Sculpture Trail close on Sunday 27 July. Selected artists will be notified in early August.
Prizes are funded through the Ku-ring-gai Council Environmental Levy and the Wildflower Garden.
