River cruises, ballet lessons, a twilight jazz concert and stimulating talks are some of the activities taking place as part of Ku-ring-gai Council’s 2025 Seniors Festival.

Between 3 and 16 March Ku-ring-gai Council will be hosting or promoting 39 free and paid activities designed to appeal to residents aged 55 and over.

Highlight activities include:

  • A visit to the Sydney Tramway Museum at Loftus in southern Sydney.
  • Cruises to the Hawkesbury River’s riverside communities and along the Parramatta River (including a visit to the buzzing multi-cultural hub of Harris Park).
  • An introduction to ballet for seniors, which aims to improve balance, stability, flexibility, co-ordination and mental agility.
  • A Sunday afternoon jazz performance at Gordon’s beautiful Eryldene Historic House.
  • Stimulating talks on artificial intelligence, the future of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and downsizing.
  • An introduction to an array of environmental and citizen science projects.

Ku-ring-gai Mayor Christine Kay said the 2025 Seniors Festival was a way of recognising the value that older residents brought to the Ku-ring-gai community.

“I encourage all Ku-ring-gai residents who are over the age of 55 to check out the wide variety of fun and educational 2025 Seniors Festival activities,” Mayor Kay said.
