Investigative roadworks Pacific Highway Balfour St and Havilah Rd
Published on 04 July 2025
Utility investigation roadworks are planned for the Pacific Highway, Balfour Street/Havilah Road and Wolseley Road, Lindfield on 7, 8 and 9 July, 8pm to 5am.
Council is coordinating design work for the upgrade of the intersection which will include:
- Extension of the right turn bay from Pacific Highway (northbound) into Havilah Road (southbound).
- No right turn from Havilah Road (westbound) into Pacific Highway (northbound). This will be transferred to Strickland Avenue at the new traffic lights on Pacific Highway (also in the design stage).
- Future road widening to allow the extension of the right turn bay from Pacific Highway (southbound) into Balfour Street (westbound).
- Minor adjustments to pedestrian crossings
As part of the planning and design, it is critical to understand where the existing underground utilities are located. We will be undertaking utility investigations and surveying in the road and footpath area.
There will be minor lane closures on Pacific Highway, managed under traffic control. The investigations need to be done at night, as Transport for NSW will not allow this type of work on Pacific Highway to be carried out during the day due to traffic impacts.
Traffic control will be in place for minor lane closures on the Pacific Highway and resident access will be maintained
There will be noise from sensing equipment, reversing vehicles and other plant/equipment. All necessary precautions will be taken to ensure public safety and to reduce impacts on property access.
