Local Government Week

This Local Government Week, 4 - 8 August, we’re celebrating Ku-ring-gai and our community!

Here in Ku-ring-gai – we’re a population of almost 125,000 with 43% of our residents born overseas and our 20,400 volunteers undertake 400,000 hours work a year.

Council looks after 375 hectares of bushland, 30km of walking trails, 207 parks, playgrounds and sportsfields, 67 tennis courts, 22 community centres, 4 library branches attracting 325,966 visitors, 2 golf courses, 2 mountain bike tracks, 2 youth hubs with 7,300 participants, an art centre with 2,406 enrolments, a showground with 248,200 cars through the gate and the Wildflower Garden attracting 150,000 trail walkers and visitors. We also have 484 kms of road which we maintain along with TfNSW.

Our children’s service staff look after almost 900 children, 4,804 people joined in seniors programs, 146,337 attended Council events and 3.1 million people visited our website.
