Chris Hammer is a leading Australian author of crime fiction beginning with Scrublands in 2018. His newest work Legacy is his eighth novel. Before turning to fiction, he was a journalist for more than thirty years.
In his latest blockbuster crime novel, hero Martin Scarsden flees an assassination attempt but lands in even more trouble when a deadly family feud leaves him at death's door.
In his previous career as a journalist, Chris Hammer dividing his career between covering Australian federal politics and international affairs. For many years he was a roving foreign correspondent for SBS TV's current affairs program Dateline. He has reported from more than thirty countries on six continents. In Canberra, his roles included chief political correspondent for The Bulletin, current affairs correspondent for SBS TV and a senior political journalist for The Age.
