Councillor Matt Devlin was elected to Ku-ring-gai Council in 2024, representing Comenarra Ward.

A lifelong local, Matt has a deep connection to the community.  From playing junior sport to his ongoing volunteer service as a Deputy Captain with the Ku-ring-gai Rural Fire Brigade, he has always been hands-on in supporting the area he calls home.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance and brings real-world experience across corporate advisory, property, and public sector project delivery.  Through his work with organisations including Goodman and School Infrastructure NSW, he has delivered major projects in complex, high-pressure environments, balancing community expectations with practical outcomes.

As an independent Councillor with no political affiliation, Matt is focused on getting things done.  He works directly with residents, asks the hard questions, and pushes for decisions that deliver real outcomes, not just talk.  His approach is straightforward; be transparent, be accountable, and follow through.

Matt strongly supports arts and culture and the role it plays in shaping a connected, vibrant community.  His focus is on backing practical, forward-looking initiatives that are accessible, sustainable, and deliver real value for residents.  He is a strong advocate for revitalising Turramurra Town Centre, with a focus on making it a more active, welcoming hub for dining, local business, and community life.

Approachable and engaged, Matt is regularly out in the community and values being present, whether that’s at a local art opening, a weekend sporting match, or a neighbourhood event.

During the current Council term, Councillor Devlin has been appointed to, and presently hold the following roles:

  • Chair, Flood Risk and Management Committee.
  • Chair, Ku-ring-gai Local Transport Forum (formerly Local Traffic Committee).
