Bold ideas for Bowlo site - help shape Gordon’s new green space
Published on 19 August 2025
Ku-ring-gai Council is seeking the community’s help in designing a new public space at the site of the former Gordon Bowling Club.
Council is developing a new masterplan for land at 4 Pennant Avenue, Gordon. The Council-owned land was previously leased to the Gordon Bowling Club, who operated from the site from 1953 to early 2018.
The site is located west of the Pacific Highway, between Bushlands Avenue and Cecil Street, and is 700 metres from Gordon Railway station.
Ku-ring-gai Mayor Christine Kay said there were many great options for the site and the Council wanted to hear from the community before any decision was made..
“There are a wide range of possibilities for the old Gordon Bowling Club site. It has the potential to be a great playground, community garden, event space, community centre or sports facility,” Mayor Kay said.
“Council wants to keep this site as public land and recreational spaces for future generations to enjoy. We’d love to hear your bold ideas for this former Bowlo site.”
Future plans will need to consider environmental protection, safety and security, access and parking, ground conditions and stormwater management.
The community is invited to have their say via an online survey, expression of interest form, interactive planning tool, written submissions or by sharing their stories and photos.
Sporting clubs and community organisations are also invited to register their interest in using the new space. They can complete an expression of interest survey detailing their needs and requirements.
This is the first of three opportunities for consultation on the project to ensure the final masterplan reflects the needs of the community.
This first phase of consultation is open until 10 September 2025. For more information or to have your say visit krg.nsw.gov.au/yoursay
