Memorial benches

A guide to their placement on public land

Council has prepared the following guidelines on the placement of benches on public land which include indicative costs.

New benches

A new bench can be installed by Council in approved locations holding special significance for the applicant.

Please note memorial benches can only be installed on public land.

Existing benches

Council can refurbish an existing bench in approved locations where there are already a number of benches, or if an existing bench holds special significance.

Terms and conditions

Please allow up to three months for installation of a new bench or refurbishment of an existing bench.

Council will determine the most appropriate placement of the bench in consultation with the applicant.

Council may remove or relocate the bench at its discretion after the initial installation in consultation with the applicant.
