The North Turramurra Recreation Area was created at the end of Bobbin Head Road, following the permanent closure of the former Council rubbish tip. It contains a championship standard 18-hole golf course, sportsfields and a car park.

The sportsfields comprise a synthetic turf soccer field, small synthetic practice areas, two natural turf soccer fields for the winter season, cricket nets and a cricket pitch. The facility also offers lighting for night time training and games.

North Turramurra Recreation Area opened in 2014 and the Council has pledged to continuously improve its sporting facilities for community use.

Following representations from the Northern Suburbs Football Association (NSFA), in 2021 the Council agreed in principle to the upgrade of the soccer facilities, including a new grandstand.

The upgrade and the new grandstand would be fully funded by NSFA, through a combination of grants and Association funds.

In February 2023, the Council resolved to negotiate an agreement with the Association to proceed with the project, based on development consent obtained by the Association in 2022.
