City Nature Challenge - a Citizen Science event

The Great Southern BioBlitz is an international event that runs every year to highlight the diversity of wildlife in our cities.

At this event we will get to grips with the basics of using iNaturalist, a biodiversity recording app, to record the plants, animals, and fungi we find. Once everyone is up to speed, we will hunt down as many critters and plants as we can and see who can record the most species.

First 15-30 minutes will be an introduction to the event and covering the basics of iNaturalist for those unfamiliar. The remainder of the event will be spent recording the wildlife we find.

A phone or digital device with a camera capable of accessing the Internet. The event will be outside and on potentially uneven surfaces so walking boots and appropriate clothing are a must.

Event will run in light rain. Under more extreme weather conditions the event will be cancelled.

Amenities available at East Killara Shopping Centre.

Parking available on site.
