Ku-ring-gai Lichen Walk with Sofia Zvolanek

Join us on a walk around one of Ku-ring-gai's reserves and learn more about our native lichens and their amazing lifecycles from a local expert.

During these walks residents will be guided by local naturalist and Ku-ring-gai's Environmental Citizen of the Year, Sofia Zvolanek. Sofia is highly experienced recording wildlife using the iNaturalist platform, with our local lichen being one of her areas of specialism.

We will spend the first hour walking and talking images, then we will stop for 30 minutes and cover iNaturalist and upload our images, with the final hour being the culmination of the walk

A phone or digital device with a camera capable of accessing the Internet.

The event will be outside on uneven surfaces so walking boots and appropriate clothing is a must.

Event will run in light rain. Under more extreme weather conditions the event will be cancelled. The event is a walk and will be on unpaved surfaces with the possibility for many to be sloped.
