Upcycled city

Turn everyday recycled materials into an incredible miniature city in this full-day creative workshop for children aged 8–12.

Using cardboard, paper, and a variety of found objects, young makers will design and build imaginative buildings, inventions, and sculptures while learning about the importance of recycling, upcycling, and caring for the environment. It's a fun, hands-on day of creativity that encourages big ideas, problem-solving, and sustainable thinking.

Led by tutor Jessica Hannah, who brings a unique blend of creative expertise and educational experience to every workshop. Drawing on her Bachelor of Arts (Communication) from UTS and a diverse background in performing arts, creative writing and natural therapies, Jessica creates inspiring learning experiences that nurture creativity, confidence and self-expression. Passionate about the power of the arts to support social and emotional wellbeing, she encourages young people to explore, experiment and develop their own artistic voice. Her student artworks have received numerous awards and have been featured in both local and international exhibitions, reflecting her commitment to fostering creativity and excellence in every participant.
