Get ready to apply for a 2026 grant!

Create change in your community! Share in $100,000 worth of grants.

Applications open on Monday 20 April and close on Friday 22 May 2026.

We’re looking for projects that protect bushland, engage communities and reduce emissions.

What you need to know before applying

Environmental Conservation Grants

  • Project description – what you will do, how it will be delivered, timeline and how success will be measured

  • Project location – address, map or Google pin

  • Written approval from the land manager (Council, NPWS, school, private landowner etc.)

  • Project budget

  • Who will deliver the work (contractors and/or volunteers)

  • Promotion or engagement plan (if relevant)

  • Volunteer details (if volunteers are involved)

  • Supporting material such as quotes, photos or maps

Net Zero Communities Grants

  • Project description – works, delivery method, timeline and outcomes

  • Project budget

  • Who will deliver the work (contractors and/or volunteers)

  • Promotion or engagement plan (if relevant)

  • Volunteer details (if applicable)

  • Supporting material such as quotes, photos or maps

Assessment criteria

Conservation projects should:

  • Increase understanding of environmental issues

  • Encourage community action

  • Improve bushland or protect native plants and animals

Net Zero projects should:

  • Support waste reduction, reuse and recycling

  • Increase understanding of Net Zero and emissions reduction

  • Encourage action to reduce emissions in energy, waste or transport

All applications should demonstrate:

  • Evidence the project is needed

  • Benefits to the Ku-ring-gai environment and community

  • Partnerships with local groups or community members

  • Consideration of diversity and inclusion

  • A clear plan to achieve project outcomes.
