Affordable Housing Contribution Scheme

Ku-ring-gai Council recognises the urgent need for affordable housing, particularly for key workers and individuals with lower to moderate incomes who have demonstrated connections to the Ku-ring-gai local area. Council is committed to developing housing solutions that prioritise these residents, ensuring they have access to stable and secure homes.

Ku-ring-gai Council adopted its first Affordable Housing Policy on 15 April 2025 and continued to work on an Affordable Housing Contributions Scheme to support the proposed alternative Transport Oriented Development around the four stations of Gordon, Killara, Lindfield and Roseville. The draft Affordable Housing clause was included as part of the exhibition of the preferred TOD LEP amendments and adopted by Council in June 2025. The supporting Affordable Housing Contributions Scheme was exhibited in August/September 2025 and adopted at the Ordinary Meeting of Council held on 21 October 2025.

It will be effective from the date of gazettal of the amendments to the Ku-ring-gai Local Environmental Plan (KLEP).
