Active Ku-ring-gai FAQs

How much do classes cost?

Classes start from $12 per week for each term program.  Payment is on a per term basis and must be made prior to the first class of term. No payment is accepted by the instructors.

How do I register for a class

You may register for your desired class by visiting the class page on the website and completing an online booking registration. Once your registration has been confirmed, you will receive an email confirmation including all relevant class details.

I am concerned that the class may be too advanced for me, can I still attend?

Yes! Active Ku-ring-gai programs are suitable for all levels of fitness. Our Active Ku-ring-gai instructors tailor the exercises they give to suit each member of their class. If you have any concerns, please have a chat with your instructor who will do their best to help you.

I am new to Active Ku-ring-gai, what equipment do I need to bring to the class? What clothing should I wear?

Appropriate exercise equipment is provided at some Active Ku-ring-gai classes. If you are attending the Yoga, Powerband, or Mums & Bubs program, you will need to bring along a mat. If you are attending Junior or Social Tennis, please bring along a tennis racquet.

Please wear comfortable exercise clothing and appropriate footwear to all classes and bring along a water bottle and towel.

I have registered with Council for an Active Ku-ring-gai class.  When I arrive at my first class, will the instructor be expecting me?

Yes, once you register with Council and receive a confirmation email, your name is put on the class list and the instructor will be expecting you. If your name is not on the list at your first class, please contact Council before your next class to double check that you are registered.

What do I do if it is raining and my class is usually held outdoors?

All outdoor Active Ku-ring-gai class have an alternate wet weather venue (except for tennis programs). Your instructor will decide if the class is going to be held indoors or outdoors for that week and will contact you to let you know of any change.

What if I have registered for Social Tennis and my session is cancelled due to wet weather?

Participants can play in a catch up session that is offered by the social tennis instructor or contact 9424 0754 for a one hour booking at any tennis court in Ku-ring-gai.
