Looking for a fun, unique outdoor birthday experience for your child? Book a Wild Birthday Party at Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden!

The 1.5 hour experience is hosted by a qualified Ranger and includes a one hour wild activity followed by 30 minutes for food and cake.

Nature Play (1-5 years)

Celebrate your special day with an immersive natural experience! Kids will explore our bushland, meet local fauna and get their hands dirty with a fun nature based activity. 
Nature Superheroes (6+ years) Be the hero the wild needs. Kids will create their own eco-capes and have an adventure in our unique bushland, discovering the amazing adaptations in nature that make our flora and fauna truly super. 
Animal Encounters (6+ years)  Connect with your inner animal. Kids will explore our amazing wilderness, find wild creatures, meet some of our favourite Australian animals and play some animal games.
Art Adventures (6+ years) Art with a natural twist. Kids will go on an exciting outdoor adventure where they can get creative and make their own natural eco art work.
Survival Skills (6+ years)  Want to learn the essential skills for surviving in the wild? Kids will go on a survival bushwalk, learn about bush foods and practise survival skills.
Campfire Experience (6+ years)  Learn the skills needed to build a campfire. Have a heap of fun cooking treats and telling stories around your crackling campfire. Note this theme only runs April to September.

Wild Birthdays FAQs

Is there is minimum or maximum number of children?

There is no minimum number of children however the minimum payment is for 12 children on weekdays and 15 children on weekends payment is required at the time of booking. The maximum number of children is 25 for 1-5 years and 50 children aged 6 and over.

What should the kids wear?

All of the programs are based outdoors. Kids and supervising adult/s should be dressed appropriately for the conditions, including practical walking shoes and hats, sunscreen or raincoats depending on the weather conditions.

How long does the party run for? 1.5 hours including ranger led activity and food/cake time. Venue hire commences 15 mins prior to the start of the party and 15 mins after the conclusion of the party. The ranger will stay with the party for the full 1.5 hours plus the 15 mins for set up and 15 mins for pack down.

What venues do you have available?

You may book Caley’s Patio or one of three picnic areas at the Wildflower Garden. Picnic areas will be allocated based on availability and suitability for a theme. If you have a preferred picnic area, please discuss with a team member.

Can siblings attend?

Any children including siblings wanting to actively participant in ranger led activities must be included in final balance numbers. Depending on the group size and available timing, siblings can watch the fauna encounter however priority will be given to paid party attendees.

What happens if it is raining?

Wild Birthday Parties still go ahead in wet weather. In the event of severe weather or high fire risk, parties may need to be cancelled. If this is likely, staff will be in contact during the week prior to make arrangements.

Is food and/or cake provided?

No, catering is the responsibility of the party host.

Can we decorate the venue?

Yes, you are permitted to attach temporary decorations to fixed structures (not trees or heritage structures) within the hire area. These must be completely removed by the conclusion of the hire period, including attachments such as tape or string. As part of Ku-ring-gai Councils focus on sustainable events Balloons, confetti, party poppers and piñatas are not permitted. Please see our Sustainable Event Guide document for further details.

What COVID19 restrictions apply?

Wildflower Garden staff have guidelines in place for rangers leading activities including social distancing, hand sanitising and equipment cleaning. For the part host, the current guidelines under the latest Public Health Order require:

  • Your group must not exceed a total of 50 people including ranger/s running the program.
  • Your group is to maintain a safe social distance from any other group or the general public utilising the venue.
  • You are required to provide your group with appropriate sanitisation materials and please sanitise any Council equipment that you may use before leaving the site.
  • All attendee names and contact details are to be recorded at the time of booking and are to be held for a period of 28 days to ensure contact tracing if required.

If guidelines are amended or changed this may impact your venue hire.
