Drawing & mixed media

An ideal course for everyone - beginners or those wishing to improve their painting and drawing skills. Enjoy the learning process and be guided through the basic principles of painting and drawing, including tone, line, composition and perspective. Experience handling a variety of media including pastels, pencil, ink, watercolour and acrylic paint. Through these processes students are encouraged to explore and develop their own exciting and personal expression.

Materials required (please speak to your tutor in the first class if you are unsure)

1 x 2B graphite pencil
1 x soft graphite stick
1 x white plastic eraser
1 x kneadable/putty eraser
4 x sticks Medium Thickness Willow Charcoal
24 x Chalk pastels (optional)
1 x small tube white Gouache
1 x small bottle black ink
1 x can Workable Fixative
2 x inexpensive soft long-haired pointy/Chinese brushes, sizes 2 and 4
1 x sheet mid-Grey pastel paper
10 x sheets A2 size cartridge paper
