Council grants on offer to the local community

Ku-ring-gai Council has two grant programs on offer to community groups and other organisations.

The community grants program offers funds for equipment, outreach services and community-based cultural activities.

Community groups and other organisations such as not for profits can apply for grants in the following three categories: small equipment, community development programs and arts & cultural programs.  

Grants of up to $2000 are available for small equipment such as sporting equipment or tools. 

Up to $5000 is available for community development services and arts and cultural activities.

Examples of projects successful in gaining funding include $3600 for the Ku-ring-gai Male Choir; $4000 for the Shepherd Centre for a children’s musical therapy program; $4000 for Action for People with a Disability to hold two financial and estate planning workshops and two defibrillators for St John Ambulance and Wahroonga Rotary.

The Council is also offering event sponsorships for organisations and groups in Ku-ring-gai. 

The sponsorship program provides financial support to eligible event producers and groups for regional events and festivals.

Successful applicants must demonstrate their event promotes Ku-ring-gai as a major events destination and assists the economic and social growth of the region, while protecting its unique environment.
