Road openings

A permit is required by Council prior to any work taking place on public land.

A Road Opening Permit allows a person to excavate public infrastructure such as roads, footpaths, kerb and gutter and nature strips to undertake private work such as stormwater and sewer connections. The restoration of the public infrastructure is undertaken by Council.

Please note:

  • Larger projects involving construction/reconstruction by the applicant of Council infrastructure, under a Development Approval, require Roads Act Approval - not a Road Opening Permit. Please contact Council on 9424 0954
