Family Day Care

Our family day care offers personalised, flexible, quality care for children. We provide long day care for babies and children between 0 and 5 years. Some family day care educators also provide before- and after-school or vacation care for children aged 6 to 13 years.

Our early childhood educators are carefully selected, professionally supported and mentored in their homes.

We understand that every child and family have different needs. We aim to accommodate your needs in a nurturing and safe home environment.

We support 20 family day care educators across our area.

As an approved service, families are able to claim childcare subsidy through Centrelink.

Our educators

Educators are screened before registration and all have a minimum Certificate III in Children’s Services. Many of our educators have a Diploma level qualification and we also have an early childhood teacher who will soon be joining us. All staff and educators are required to have first aid certificates including asthma and anaphylaxis management. Certificates are renewed every three years and CPR certifications are renewed every 12 months. All educators and staff maintain current working-with-children checks, including anyone residing in their educator homes over the age of 18.

If you are interested in becoming an educator, please complete the Register of Family Day Care Educators form below and send it to Family Day Care.

Educational program

Each educator provides a program for each child in their care delivered under the Early Years Learning Framework. This framework is a nationally based learning framework for all child care services required under national regulations and standards. Qualified staff assist educators in the development and delivery of their program. Each child has a documented program that is developed with consultation from families and available to them whenever requested. We also run weekly playgroups which are well resourced with equipment and run by an early childhood teacher. Playgroups run Tuesdays to Thursdays each week between 9.30 and 11.30am.

A well-resourced Coordination Unit oversees the operations of educators and ensures all national standards and regulations are consistently met.

Cost

Family Day Care fees are decided by your educator and vary depending on the type and length of care required. In general fees range from $11.75 to $16.75 per hour.
