Spring school holiday fun in Ku-ring-gai

With activities ranging from pottery classes to free tips on how to maximise HSC success, Ku-ring-gai Council has the school holidays covered.

The Council’s school holiday activities run from Monday 25 September to Friday 6 October.

Bookings are open now at the Council’s vacation care centres across Ku-ring-gai. Vacation care offers children arts & crafts, games, sports, excursions and educational experiences during the holidays. 

At the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden primary school aged children can learn bush survival skills, cook over a campfire and meet live native animals. There is also a Nature Adventures  Day on 29 September featuring a bushwalk, tree ropes course and outdoor games.

Ku-ring-gai Art Centre introduces holiday wheel throwing workshops for teens who are interested in making and firing their own pottery. For creative kids there’s a selection of paint-a-canvas and fun classes to explore. There are full and half day options to choose from and Creative Kids Vouchers are welcome.

At Gordon Library the Council’s youth team are hosting an insiders guide to the HSC and how to generate multiple university offers. The session is on Thursday 28 September between 4pm and 5pm and suitable for 14 to 18 year olds.

The Council is hosting junior golf and tennis classes for beginners for the duration of the holidays. To book go to krg.nsw.gov.au/whatson

Mayor Jeff Pettett said the spring school holidays had ‘something for everyone’.
