Fermenting Workshop

In this workshop we will delve into the time-honored craft of fermentation, a practice passed down through generations.

Through a two hour hands-on session, you'll master the art of preserving seasonal produce and surplus veggies using age-old methods. Say goodbye to food waste as you discover the secrets of fermenting your way to delicious, probiotic-rich creations.

By mastering these techniques, you'll gain the confidence of knowing exactly what goes into each jar of kraut or ferment you prepare, all while embracing a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle. Best of all, you'll leave with your very own jar of kraut to enjoy at home!

Please remember to bring along an apron and a small knife.

Minors to be accompanied by a guardian.

This workshop is funded by Ku-ring-gai Council's Environmental Levy.

The Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden is one of Sydney's best kept secrets, set across 123 hectares of unique urban bushland and home to two endangered ecological communities as well as 18 threatened species of flora and fauna. The Wildflower Garden is open to the public all year round and has a range of hikes, step-free walking tracks, picnic areas and heritage venue hire as well as a diverse calendar of environmental education programs.
