Wild with Words poetry competition

Smart-Schools-poetry-comp

Our Wild with Words poetry and art competition is taking a short pause and will be back in 2026. We’re coming back bigger and brighter with a fresh theme, exciting new categories and even more ways for students to shine. The new program will have opportunities for both primary and high school students and some great prizes for the different age categories. We can’t wait to see the words, colours and creativity your students will bring to the next round!

2024 winners

In 2024 primary school students (Years 1-6) across Ku-ring-gai were invited to submit words and illustrations about a favourite animal, plant, tree or special place in our local bushland, parks and gardens, sharing their love and respect for the green heart of Sydney in this annual poetry competition.

The winners have all been contacted and have received their prizes. See details of winners and highly commended entries published in the e-booklet below. Hard copies have been distributed to schools and copies are available to be borrowed from all Ku-ring-gai libraries.

Below are our winners and highly commended entries.
